Please note: Dogs are not allowed in any Rhode Island State Camping Areas or in Goddard Memorial Park.

Don't forget that dogs are natural predators!  Please do not bring your pet to areas that are frequented by wildlife. This includes Rhode Island beaches that are known to harbor nesting shorebirds as well as remote wooded areas that serve as sanctuaries for birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has banned dogs from the following National Wildlife Refuges in Rhode Island: Ninigret, Sachuset Point, John H. Chafee, and Trustom Pond. Most NWRs in Massachusetts and Connecticut are also closed to domestic dogs. When in doubt, it's best to choose another spot or leave your pet at home.
